Nemesio Novo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Saul Harroyo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Colas Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giraldo Calderon having to interfere. The supporters of Matalascañas booed when Posilgas CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cleto Morales didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nemesio Novos short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Saul Harroyo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 15th minute Colas Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giraldo Calderon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fulgencio Bacete's late challenge caught a Matalascañas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Posilgas CF's goalkeeper Giraldo Calderon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Giraldo Calderon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Colas Freire in the 41st minute of the match. Colas Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Colas Freire to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anibal Valcarcel in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. Giraldo Calderon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Colas Freire in the 66th minute.
