The referee ignored Los Santos CF's protests and gave Brion Medina a yellow card for diving instead. Xanti Garrido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Marcos Figueroa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcos Figueroa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esdras Marin in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Cristofer Castaño got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Esdras Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Los Santos CF's Porfiro Vega got a free kick in the 27th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Xanti Garrido managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clares's supporters rose to their feet, but Xanti Garrido was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Figueroa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 33rd minute, Xanti Garrido left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clares fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Cristofer Castaño might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrique Gómez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristofer Castaño ran back to his position shaking his head. After 47 minutes, Xanti Garrido mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clares and the Los Santos CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Clares got a freekick which was hit by Xanti Garrido. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristofer Castaño made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Xanti Garrido managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clares's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xanti Garrido was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 54 minutes into the game, Virgilio Quintana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clares's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Santos CF the free kick. Esdras Marin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Figueroa having to make a save. If Xanti Garrido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Los Santos CF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Esdras Marin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Clares played a much better game than Los Santos CF and deserved their victory. The Los Santos CF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
