Mel Vuelta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabino Fernandez in the 14th minute of the match. Mel Vuelta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabino Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Sabino Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pastor Ballesteros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mel Vuelta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabino Fernandez in the 42nd minute of play. Ariel Beloki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mel Vuelta having to interfere. The supporters of Soner booed when C.D Torrevieja was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fiz Solano didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Soner's Eduardo Quintana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Soner from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabino Fernandez in the 74th minute of play forced C.D Torrevieja's goalkeeper Mel Vuelta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sabino Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mel Vuelta having to interfere. Soner's Eduardo Quintana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segundo Ruiz in the 84th minute of play. Pastor Ballesteros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute.
