Dani Diaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldemer Zubiaga having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Granada cf's zone, Sindo Alcalde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baldemer Zubiaga came out of the goal and Sindo Alcalde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dani Diaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Baldemer Zubiaga made a huge save. After 25 played minutes Granada cf got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Silva. Garikoitz Caminero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Baldemer Zubiaga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dani Diaz in the 38th minute. Dani Diaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baldemer Zubiaga having to make a save. Baldemer Zubiaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cisco Jaraba in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of Granada cf booed when Atlético Peraleo C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iban Sánchez didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Dani Diaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Peraleo C.F.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Dani Diaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baldemer Zubiaga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Granada cf's Garikoitz Caminero got a free kick in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Granada cf's goal looked a bit too open when Cisco Jaraba came free, but Baldemer Zubiaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
