Toño Quintanilla started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes of play, Racing Club Portuense's Felipe Vacas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Galo Ladra was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Racing Club Portuense booed when Athletic Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toño Quintanilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute Pancho Iniesta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Galo Ladra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Athletic Barcelona's Galo Ladra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pancho Iniesta in the 17th minute of play. Galo Ladra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Vacas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute Toño Quintanilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 邵俊震 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Racing Club Portuense's goalkeeper 邵俊震 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Quexal Aguado. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xalbador Naranjo during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Racing Club Portuense getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Xalbador Naranjo hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Guter Morcego hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Pancho Iniesta came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Racing Club Portuense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pancho Iniesta couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guter Morcego during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes Athletic Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Guter Morcego. 37 minutes into the match, Athletic Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Vacas came free, but Galo Ladra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Galo Ladra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xalbador Naranjo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Toño Quintanilla kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving 邵俊震. That made the score 1-1 in the 45 minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Felipe Vacas made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Racing Club Portuense's Pancho Iniesta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Athletic Barcelona's Galo Ladra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indartsu Lama in the 57th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pancho Iniesta in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Galo Ladra saved Athletic Barcelona from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toño Quintanilla in the 60th minute of play forced Racing Club Portuense's goalkeeper 邵俊震 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Racing Club Portuense's Agustín Candela ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Galo Ladra. Galo Ladra yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Galo Ladra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pancho Iniesta in the 65th minute of play. Pancho Iniesta took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Galo Ladra. Galo Ladra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. 69 minutes into the match, Racing Club Portuense's Felipe Vacas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Galo Ladra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Felipe Vacas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Racing Club Portuense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Vacas got free with Galo Ladra in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Galo Ladra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Vacas in the 80th minute. Athletic Barcelona's Galo Ladra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pancho Iniesta in the 82nd minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Athletic Barcelona's goalkeeper Galo Ladra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xalbador Naranjo. 89 minutes into the game, Indartsu Lama cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Galo Ladra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 95 played minutes Athletic Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Xines Domingo. Racing Club Portuense played a much better game than Athletic Barcelona and deserved their victory. The Athletic Barcelona players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
