Baldovino Borrás might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Porfirio Galdamez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The crowd rose to their feet as Dalmai Barba kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Polo Cortes. That made the score 3-1 in the 37 minute of play. Dalmai Barba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 played minutes Club Atlético de Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Zaquiel Garay.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baldovino Borrás made a kick off. Club Atlético de Madrid's Porfirio Galdamez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldovino Borrás in the 75th minute of play. Polo Cortes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalmai Barba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Polo Cortes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmai Barba in the 80th minute of play. UD Almería's Baldovino Borrás got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th match minute, UD Almería was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Huguet to maneuver through the defense. Dalmai Barba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute Urbano Casas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Polo Cortes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the game, Club Atlético de Madrid's Dalmai Barba nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Polo Cortes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Atlético de Madrid fully deserved thier win.
