Antimo Sobrado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jordi Griful struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Ludvig Skålberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Numancia. After 18 minutes, Gil Antunez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Club Celta de Vigo and the CD Numancia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes Real Club Celta de Vigo got a freekick which was hit by Gil Antunez. After recieving a nice pass, CD Numancia's Xian Colsa tried to score from far away in the 19th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Zumar Balcells recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Real Club Celta de Vigo booed when CD Numancia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmai Lopez de Toro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 31 minutes, Ximun Solo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Club Celta de Vigo and the CD Numancia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st minute, Ximun Solo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the match, Clemencin Ballesteros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lope Sobera, 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clemencin Ballesteros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Antimo Sobrado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CD Numancia's Lope Sobera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Clemencin Ballesteros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute Clemencin Ballesteros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lope Sobera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Real Club Celta de Vigo getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ximun Solo hit a great ball. After 61 minutes of play, CD Numancia's Zumar Balcells made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ludvig Skålberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Real Club Celta de Vigo's Gil Antunez suffered a sprained foot after 68 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Jordi Griful's late challenge caught a Real Club Celta de Vigo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jordi Griful helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, CD Numancia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jordi Griful to maneuver through the defense. Dalmai Lopez de Toro charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dalmai Lopez de Toro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dalmai Lopez de Toro hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Ludvig Skålberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! The CD Numancia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CD Numancia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
