Pablo Mayol's late challenge caught a Escane's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pablo Mayol helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, R.Madrid's Pablo Mayol got a free kick in the 7th minute. Americo Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Pepillo Ponce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute, Americo Vidal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Quintin Mata struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. William Gibert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Escane. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck William Gibert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. William Gibert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quintin Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Americo Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Gibert having to interfere. After having played for 96 minutes, Americo Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Escane's supporters crossed their fingers, but Americo Vidal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Escane's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
