Herminio Aranzubia might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isidro Verges. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Herminio Aranzubia ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Cesaro Abellan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mataro Vikings's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesaro Abellan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aranguiz Maroto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mataro Vikings's Cesaro Abellan got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Taurino Alavedra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Firestorm's supporters rose to their feet, but Taurino Alavedra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isidro Verges breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aranguiz Maroto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anastasio Llorente in the 27th minute of the match. Aranguiz Maroto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesaro Abellan, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Juan-Luis Cabezas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Mataro Vikings's Cesaro Abellan suffered a sore thigh after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rios Nadal during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Firestorm getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Rios Nadal hit a great ball.

53 minutes into the match, Firestorm's goal looked a bit too open when Juan-Luis Cabezas came free, but Aranguiz Maroto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute, Tito Lagunas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Herminio Aranzubia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the game, Mataro Vikings's Juan-Luis Cabezas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aranguiz Maroto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Firestorm's Aranguiz Maroto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan-Luis Cabezas in the 62nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mataro Vikings's zone, Rico Garay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidro Verges came out of the goal and Rico Garay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tito Lagunas's late challenge caught a Firestorm's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tito Lagunas helped the player get up and apologised. After 67 played minutes Mataro Vikings got a freekick which was hit by Tito Lagunas. After a defensive mix-up in Mataro Vikings's zone, Taurino Alavedra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidro Verges came out of the goal and Taurino Alavedra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute Herminio Aranzubia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Verges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidro Verges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rico Garay in the 75th minute of play. In the 80th minute Juan-Luis Cabezas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aranguiz Maroto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 80 played minutes Firestorm got a freekick which was hit by Rico Garay. Herminio Aranzubia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Isidro Verges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, Firestorm's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Vacas came free, but Aranguiz Maroto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
