The supporters of Oxford University booed when Manteschert United F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arximiro Echeto didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luciano Losada in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eleodoro Urquijo saved Manteschert United F.C. from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Oxford University's Casado Alcalde got a free kick in the 12th minute. Marcelino Torrente was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and Arximiro Echeto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arximiro Echeto really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, Manteschert United F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Losada came free, but Eleodoro Urquijo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Indalecio Cañadas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelino Torrente having to interfere. Oxford University's Marcelino Torrente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indalecio Cañadas in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Oxford University's Gerardo Duarte got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Casado Alcalde got his second yellow card in the match during the 25th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Casado Alcalde hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Marcelino Torrente acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 26th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Rio Pastor. After having played for 30 minutes, Julen Montero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oxford University's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julen Montero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julen Montero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Indalecio Cañadas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelino Torrente was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Marcelino Torrente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Indalecio Cañadas in the 40th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Indalecio Cañadas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcelino Torrente. That made the score 2-0 in the 42 minute of play. Oliviero Nieto hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Julen Montero made the kick off in the second half. Julen Montero took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eleodoro Urquijo. Eleodoro Urquijo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. A collision led to Manteschert United F.C. getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Oliviero Nieto hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, Manteschert United F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huly Carro to maneuver through the defense. In the game's 59th minute Oxford University's Raphael Sauca took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Eleodoro Urquijo and thus the score was 2-2. Indalecio Cañadas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelino Torrente having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Luciano Losada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arximiro Echeto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Marcelino Torrente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arximiro Echeto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelino Torrente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Oxford University's zone, Agustín Sarro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelino Torrente came out of the goal and Agustín Sarro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcelino Torrente stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Indalecio Cañadas's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute Indalecio Cañadas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelino Torrente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelino Torrente was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arximiro Echeto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Manteschert United F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Oxford University had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
