Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nastasio Bermudez started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Hércules C.F. booed when San Mamed CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Sacristán didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wagner Tardelli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Aliecer Pacheco made a huge save. 12 minutes into the game, Claudio Ferrer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Mamed CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hércules C.F. the free kick. After 12 played minutes San Mamed CF got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Ferrer. Austin Manrique made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Paredes in the 23rd minute of play. Nastasio Bermudez hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute Leandro Iigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Austin Manrique saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes San Mamed CF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Odon Dominguez who took care of the corner kick. In the 31st minute Nastasio Bermudez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aliecer Pacheco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Hércules C.F. getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Meder Iniesta hit a great ball. San Mamed CF's Wagner Tardelli got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nastasio Bermudez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aliecer Pacheco having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roberto Sacristán got free with Aliecer Pacheco in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hércules C.F.! In the 40th minute there was a penalty for San Mamed CF. Wagner Tardelli stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aliecer Pacheco. 2-1. Wagner Tardelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Aliecer Pacheco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaitano Galdamez to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Roberto Sacristán ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aliecer Pacheco was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. San Mamed CF's Wagner Tardelli couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 59th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hércules C.F.. In the 62nd minute Roberto Sacristán shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aliecer Pacheco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd match minute, Hércules C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Mora to maneuver through the defense. Meder Iniesta lost his temper 64 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 63 minutes into the game, one of Hércules C.F.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. San Mamed CF made a substitution. Hércules C.F.'s Aliecer Pacheco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wagner Tardelli in the 89th minute of play. San Mamed CF's Ansuro Zubizarreta was substituted for Roberto Sacristán. In the 96th minute Ansuro Zubizarreta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aliecer Pacheco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ansuro Zubizarreta took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aliecer Pacheco. Aliecer Pacheco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. There was no doubt that San Mamed CF were the better team. San Mamed CF's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
