The audience was convinced that Govynyon Forsyth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Euloxu Buenafuente was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. The supporters of Real Madrid booed when NPM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Campomanes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Govynyon Forsyth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Euloxu Buenafuente having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in NPM's zone, Govynyon Forsyth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Euloxu Buenafuente came out of the goal and Govynyon Forsyth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Govynyon Forsyth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Euloxu Buenafuente having to interfere. Euloxu Buenafuente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Govynyon Forsyth in the 29th minute of play. Real Madrid were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after NPM's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Truylos Leon took the corner. The corner ended in Truylos Leon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but NPM's Euloxu Buenafuente did a great save. In the 31st match minute, NPM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Mera to maneuver through the defense. Real Madrid's Humberto Alabern played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Macías in the 38th minute of play. Euloxu Buenafuente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Govynyon Forsyth in the 41st minute of play. Robin Classon might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Euloxu Buenafuente. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robin Classon ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Govynyon Forsyth in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Euloxu Buenafuente saved NPM from getting behind. If Robin Classon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Robin Classon came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Real Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robin Classon couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Govynyon Forsyth to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Aznar Folch managed to get in a good position for a shot. NPM's supporters rose to their feet, but Aznar Folch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Alabern breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 54thth minute of the game Govynyon Forsyth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NPM's Euloxu Buenafuente was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Robin Classon came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Real Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robin Classon couldn't finish the play. Govynyon Forsyth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Euloxu Buenafuente having to make a save. 63 minutes into the match, Govynyon Forsyth notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of NPM's Euloxu Buenafuente. Euloxu Buenafuente was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aznar Folch's late challenge caught a Real Madrid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aznar Folch helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, NPM's Aznar Folch got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 77th match minute, Real Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abundio Sevilla to maneuver through the defense. Govynyon Forsyth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Robin Classon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th match minute, NPM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilio Campomanes to maneuver through the defense.
