Medardo Palomares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee ignored Maccabi Levantar's protests and gave Epifanio Noya a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Quijote booed when Maccabi Levantar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Epifanio Noya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quijote's Martin Hegg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quinton Flores in the 17th minute of play. Bitxintxo Zabalo charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bitxintxo Zabalo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Maccabi Levantar getting a freekick after 19 minutes play.
