When Cordeiro Arribas came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the San Juan De Plan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cordeiro Arribas couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute, Herman Skoog made a precise shot to the right of Juan-Alfredo Palencia. Martindegi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Martindegi's Juan-Alfredo Palencia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Ascenzi in the 38th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Martindegi's goal looked a bit too open when Joseba Sacristán came free, but Juan-Alfredo Palencia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gilen Solera fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Martindegi's protests and gave Gilen Solera a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute, Gilen Solera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes into the match, Isidor Castella had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juan-Alfredo Palencia. Martindegi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isidor Castella was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herman Skoog made a kick off. Juan-Alfredo Palencia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseba Sacristán in the 55th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, Herman Skoog dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Juan-Alfredo Palencia, 0-4. In the 60th minute, Cordeiro Arribas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Juan De Plan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Herman Skoog recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Frank Ascenzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan-Alfredo Palencia made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Frank Ascenzi sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Martindegi defense, Frank Ascenzi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan-Alfredo Palencia. The Martindegi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan-Alfredo Palencia should have stopped the shot. In the 79th match minute, Martindegi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilen Solera to maneuver through the defense. When San Juan De Plan's Herman Skoog in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Martindegi's goalie prevented a goal. 82 minutes into the match, Herman Skoog notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of Martindegi's Juan-Alfredo Palencia. Juan-Alfredo Palencia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidor Castella in the 96th minute of play. Gilen Solera hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. San Juan De Plan played a much better game than Martindegi and deserved their victory. The Martindegi players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
