The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Iván Babia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jonathan Quevedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wells Union FC's Javier Gene proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Wells Union FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Marrero in the 19th minute of play forced Ibero SD's goalkeeper Jonathan Quevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 25 minutes, Maximiano Carreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ibero SD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiano Carreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aresti Cazorla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Gene having to interfere. After 28 minutes, Anastasio Amorebieta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wells Union FC and the Ibero SD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th minute, Anastasio Amorebieta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the game, Cordeal Folch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wells Union FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ibero SD the free kick. 33 minutes into the match, Ibero SD's Andolin Macías broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Maximiano Carreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 40 played minutes Wells Union FC got a freekick which was hit by Anastasio Amorebieta. After recieving a nice pass, Ibero SD's Andolin Macías tried to score from far away in the 41st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 44thth minute of the game Maximiano Carreira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wells Union FC's Javier Gene was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wells Union FC's goalkeeper Javier Gene, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 48 minutes, Raymon Barrientos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ibero SD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raymon Barrientos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuel Naranjo made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Wells Union FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raymon Barrientos came free, but Javier Gene reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raymon Barrientos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Javier Gene tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Javier Gene showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiano Carreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The Wells Union FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wells Union FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
