The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Cosmos C.D.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zaragoza:s goal. Alberto Casanova kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After having played for 17 minutes, Nestor Silvestre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosmos C.D.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Nestor Silvestre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guaberto Zurica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Oso Villafane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cosmos C.D.'s Oso Villafane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guaberto Zurica in the 33rd minute of play. Guaberto Zurica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Oso Villafane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes in the game, Guaberto Zurica fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Oso Villafane having to interfere. If Guaberto Zurica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cosmos C.D.'s Oso Villafane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guaberto Zurica in the 45th minute of play. Guaberto Zurica took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oso Villafane. Oso Villafane dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jon Costa was the one to do the kick off. Oso Villafane didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guaberto Zurica went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Lucio Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Oso Villafane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Zaragoza getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Marcos Orbiz hit a great ball. Rey Camaño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guaberto Zurica in the 69th minute of play forced Cosmos C.D.'s goalkeeper Oso Villafane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Geofredo Avila was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cosmos C.D.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zaragoza the free kick. In the 72nd match minute, Cosmos C.D. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geofredo Avila to maneuver through the defense. Cosmos C.D.'s Oso Villafane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Moreno in the 73rd minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Guaberto Zurica had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oso Villafane. Cosmos C.D.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guaberto Zurica was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. A hard shot 88 in the game by Rey Camaño from a close distance when the talented Reinaldo Naranjo managed to make a qualified save. Zaragoza's players were relieved. If Lucio Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guaberto Zurica in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oso Villafane saved Cosmos C.D. from getting behind. When the referee ended the match the Zaragoza players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
