After 6 minutes of play, Horta FC's Elpidio Acarreta made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ekialde Garay was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ekialde Garay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Derwin Rey, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 11th match minute, Real Cogollos Vega C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Nieto to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Real Cogollos Vega C.F.'s zone, Derwin Rey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ekialde Garay came out of the goal and Derwin Rey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute, Leonardo Castellano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ekialde Garay came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Horta FC's Marcos Jaen. But to his dismay, Marcos Jaen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Mosen Bacete showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Leseduarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 24 minutes, Zacarías Alavedra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Cogollos Vega C.F. and the Horta FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th match minute, Real Cogollos Vega C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarías Alavedra to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Derwin Rey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Derwin Rey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ekialde Garay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dantel Bermudez came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mosen Bacete could save by the left post. When Troy Sirvent fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Cogollos Vega C.F.'s protests and gave Troy Sirvent a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 played minutes Real Cogollos Vega C.F. got a freekick which was hit by Troy Sirvent. Benigno Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ekialde Garay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derwin Rey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tonio Suarez in the 40th minute of play forced Real Cogollos Vega C.F.'s goalkeeper Ekialde Garay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 minutes of play, Horta FC's Derwin Rey made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ekialde Garay was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Derwin Rey was the one to do the kick off. Ekialde Garay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Jaen in the 63rd minute. 66 minutes into the match, Horta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dantel Bermudez came free, but Mosen Bacete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Real Cogollos Vega C.F.'s Ekialde Garay got control of the ball when Marcos Jaen tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcos Jaen got free with Ekialde Garay in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mosen Bacete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Raya in the 71st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Derwin Rey took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Ekialde Garay to make any attempt to save it. 84 minutes into the match, Horta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dantel Bermudez came free, but Mosen Bacete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Derwin Rey might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ekialde Garay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Derwin Rey ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zacarías Alavedra in the 89th minute of play forced Horta FC's goalkeeper Mosen Bacete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Horta FC's zone, Aldo Raya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mosen Bacete came out of the goal and Aldo Raya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mosen Bacete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dantel Bermudez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Real Cogollos Vega C.F. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Horta FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Horta FC.
