After a defensive mix-up in Aeropuerto De Bilbao's zone, Hegoi Escobar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hanni Huarte came out of the goal and Hegoi Escobar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabián Arenas in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enrique Echeto saved Las Palmas from getting behind. Enrique Echeto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabián Arenas's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. After 12 played minutes Aeropuerto De Bilbao got a freekick which was hit by Marciano Soler. Baiardo Carrasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hanni Huarte having to interfere. Fabián Arenas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Enrique Echeto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabián Arenas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute Fabián Arenas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Echeto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xaime Climent hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Hegoi Escobar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Hanni Huarte skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Xaime Climent might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hanni Huarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xaime Climent ran back to his position shaking his head. After 54 minutes, Xaime Climent mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Las Palmas and the Aeropuerto De Bilbao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Xaime Climent kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Enrique Echeto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabián Arenas, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Hegoi Escobar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hegoi Escobar struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Hanni Huarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Las Palmas. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Fabián Arenas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aeropuerto De Bilbao's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabián Arenas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrique Echeto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hegoi Escobar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Hanni Huarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baiardo Carrasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baiardo Carrasco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Las Palmas's goalkeeper Enrique Echeto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rai Rua. Rai Rua's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrique Echeto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Montez Taules during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 96th match minute, Las Palmas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Montez Taules to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Aeropuerto De Bilbao eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
