In the 14th match minute, Cali FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benito Prats to maneuver through the defense. Totò Van Bastén received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Macias Munoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Macias Munoz made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Rolando Maura sent off a good shot on target. If Totò Van Bastén had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, Rolando Maura had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Macias Munoz. Cali FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rolando Maura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Rolando Maura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Macias Munoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Totò Van Bastén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Macias Munoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Urbasa Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Macias Munoz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Totò Van Bastén went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 37 minutes into the match, Rolando Maura dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Macias Munoz, 3-0. Vilar CF's Rolando Maura got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rolando Maura to strike the kick off in the second half. A well-hit corner resulted in Bernal Cortes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Rolando Maura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vilar CF's Rey Moya was substituted for Totò Van Bastén. Macias Munoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolando Maura in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Rey Moya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Urbasa Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Cali FC defense, Rey Moya kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Macias Munoz. The Cali FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Macias Munoz should have stopped the shot. After 86 minutes of play, Vilar CF's Rolando Maura made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Macias Munoz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 96 minutes into the game, Rey Moya cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Macias Munoz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cali FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vilar CF.
