Bartolomé Orozco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rolando Maura went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 23 minutes into the match, Vilar CF's goal looked a bit too open when Aintza Mala came free, but Herauso Crespo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Totò Van Bastén received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Bartolomé Orozco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rolando Maura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bartolomé Orozco was a little too slow when Totò Van Bastén got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-0. Vilar CF's Urbasa Moreno suffered a concussion in the 33rd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 33 minutes, Aintza Mala mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RaYo GiJoNéS and the Vilar CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th minute, Aintza Mala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Maura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Bartolomé Orozco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, RaYo GiJoNéS's Bartolomé Orozco got control of the ball when Rolando Maura tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bartolomé Orozco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Totò Van Bastén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Maura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Totò Van Bastén in the 46th minute of play forced RaYo GiJoNéS's goalkeeper Bartolomé Orozco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rolando Maura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Herauso Crespo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chinto Ruiz in the 53rd minute of the match. When Totò Van Bastén came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Vilar CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Totò Van Bastén couldn't finish the play. In the 57thth minute of the game Rolando Maura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RaYo GiJoNéS's Bartolomé Orozco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Totò Van Bastén cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Bartolomé Orozco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vilar CF's Rolando Maura got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rolando Maura struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Bartolomé Orozco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilar CF. 70 minutes into the game, Adán Ribeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RaYo GiJoNéS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vilar CF the free kick. Vilar CF made a substitution. Rey Moya replaced Totò Van Bastén. After 70 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for RaYo GiJoNéS! 76 minutes into the match, Vilar CF's Rolando Maura sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bartolomé Orozco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Rolando Maura put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Bartolomé Orozco. Rolando Maura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Bartolomé Orozco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 87 minutes, Rey Moya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vilar CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rey Moya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bartolomé Orozco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolando Maura in the 89th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rolando Maura in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bartolomé Orozco saved RaYo GiJoNéS from getting behind.
