Spectators: 7700 (Terracing: 5776, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 153) Mendeica's Nayely Bravo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bautista Vila in the 7th minute of play. Nayely Bravo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timoteo Leal in the 11th minute of play. Nayely Bravo came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Valencia's Bautista Vila. But to his dismay, Bautista Vila quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some careless play in the Mendeica defense, Bautista Vila kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nayely Bravo. The Mendeica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nayely Bravo should have stopped the shot. Luis-Jose Lillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Primitivo Cordoba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chus Ortega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Louis Vives's late challenge caught a Valencia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Louis Vives helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mendeica getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Louis Vives hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute Timoteo Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nayely Bravo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Mendeica's Louis Vives sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Primitivo Cordoba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 37th minute Bautista Vila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nayely Bravo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Louis Vives fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Primitivo Cordoba having to interfere. Nayely Bravo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Casta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nayely Bravo came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Valencia's Timoteo Leal. But to his dismay, Timoteo Leal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Nayely Bravo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timoteo Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luis-Jose Lillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute, Chus Ortega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Bautista Vila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Valencia getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Nando Bodelon hit a great ball. Luis-Jose Lillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salvador Pedraza's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nayely Bravo firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Luis-Jose Lillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Luis-Jose Lillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Valencia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
