Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Feliz Segarra took the kick off in the first half of the match. Giro Idiaquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Gabas in the 12th minute of the match. Feliz Segarra struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Richie Palacios didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Albacete Balompié. Gaizka Diazs short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Giro Idiaquez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Albacete Balompié's Giro Idiaquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Gabas in the 32nd minute of play. After 38 played minutes Las Norias got a freekick which was hit by Amarante Romero. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Feliz Segarra in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richie Palacios saved Las Norias from getting behind. Richie Palacios showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaztea Alarcon, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Wilfredo Gabas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giro Idiaquez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Burni Zubiaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilfredo Gabas to strike the kick off in the second half. Feliz Segarra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richie Palacios having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Ferdinand Montes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giro Idiaquez was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Gaizka Diaz kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Belo Cameno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had been going on for 96 minutes Ximo Diaz shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Richie Palacios when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. The Albacete Balompié supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Albacete Balompié would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
