After 20 played minutes, Horizonte's Xines Duarte shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cerilo Huguet came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Horizonte reached it. Jordi Griful was a little too slow when Atauri Japón got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. Gerardo Guerrero struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Cerilo Huguet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Horizonte. After a rather tough play, Horizonte's Gerardo Guerrero got a free kick in the 44th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Atauri Japón kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jordi Griful. That made the score 2-0 in the 49 minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xines Duarte was the one to do the kick off. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Horizonte's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Quinito Bargas was slow to take the kick. During this time River Plate de Barcelona's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Horizonte's goalie and right to Jordi Astudillo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Horizonte's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After a defensive mix-up in Horizonte's zone, Atauri Japón stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jordi Griful came out of the goal and Atauri Japón tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd match minute, River Plate de Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sinforiano Sans to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Horizonte getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ximeno Canyelles hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute, Dino Parra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Horizonte getting a freekick after 100 minutes play. Xines Duarte hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. River Plate de Barcelona had played much better football throughout.
