Damario Salan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pascual Montes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermenegildo Valerón kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Gabino Barro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Hidalgo having to interfere. In the 29th match minute, Subijana De Alava was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pascual Canyelles to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Subijana De Alava's Orlando Hidalgo got control of the ball when Pascual Montes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Pascual Montes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Julepe's zone, Pio Maestro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Sobera came out of the goal and Pio Maestro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute Pio Maestro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Sobera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aranguiz Valdivia during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 played minutes Julepe got a freekick which was hit by Aranguiz Valdivia. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Julepe's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Beti Diaz was slow to take the kick. During this time Subijana De Alava's players had a chance to rest. When Gabino Barro came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Julepe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabino Barro couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Gorosti Contratas made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Pascual Montes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Julepe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 57th minute, Julepe's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Pio Maestro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Gabino Barro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Pio Maestro came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Subijana De Alava fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pio Maestro couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gorosti Contratas in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Sobera saved Julepe from getting behind. Pio Maestro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julepe's Fernando Sobera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gorosti Contratas in the 79th minute of play. Orlando Hidalgo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pascual Montes's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. After a rather tough play, Subijana De Alava's Hermenegildo Valerón got a free kick in the 84th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Subijana De Alava's zone, Aranguiz Valdivia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orlando Hidalgo came out of the goal and Aranguiz Valdivia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Subijana De Alava's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
