A Gudiña were furious when Xuaco Carreira was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to A Gudiña getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Prometeo Laredo hit a great ball. After some careless play in the A Gudiña defense, Raúl Villafane kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gaizka Zapata. The A Gudiña fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaizka Zapata should have stopped the shot. In the 46th minute, Manuel Helguera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicanor Cayuela kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manuel Helguera to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Fortun Dean mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sas and the A Gudiña players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sagrario Rossello was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 83rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Sagrario Rossello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Sarro having to interfere. Luciano Sarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agamenón Solera, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute Sagrario Rossello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Sarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
