The audience was convinced that Quintin Lacorte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nastasio Carreira was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Benigno Arias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nastasio Carreira having to interfere. After 9 played minutes Vitoria-Gasteiz got a freekick which was hit by Regis Radaban. 10 minutes into the match, Deportiva Pulpitera's Narciso Arenas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Benigno Arias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nastasio Carreira having to interfere. Nastasio Carreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quintin Lacorte in the 16th minute of the match. Bautista Armada kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Quintin Lacorte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Nastasio Carreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Deportiva Pulpitera's Benigno Arias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nastasio Carreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Regis Radaban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Vitoria-Gasteiz's zone, Benigno Arias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nastasio Carreira came out of the goal and Benigno Arias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quintin Lacorte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nastasio Carreira having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Deportiva Pulpitera's zone, Belmiro Alvarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orlo Gómez came out of the goal and Belmiro Alvarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ventura Alfaro fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vitoria-Gasteiz's protests and gave Ventura Alfaro a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Vitoria-Gasteiz:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Deportiva Pulpitera:s goal. Belmiro Alvarez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th minute, Vitoria-Gasteiz's Belmiro Alvarez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Orlo Gómez. Orlo Gómez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Regis Radaban made a kick off. Orlo Gómez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bautista Armada went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vitoria-Gasteiz's goalkeeper Nastasio Carreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vitoria-Gasteiz's Belmiro Alvarez got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ibon Aguilar came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Vitoria-Gasteiz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ibon Aguilar couldn't finish the play. Belmiro Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Orlo Gómez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Quintin Lacorte fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Orlo Gómez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Belmiro Alvarez kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Vitoria-Gasteiz's goal looked a bit too open when Quintin Lacorte came free, but Nastasio Carreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Deportiva Pulpitera defense, Regis Radaban kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orlo Gómez. The Deportiva Pulpitera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orlo Gómez should have stopped the shot. Vitoria-Gasteiz's Belmiro Alvarez got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vitoria-Gasteiz walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
