Pudes Balboa struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Claude Santander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Perro Sanxe. 15 minutes into the match, Los Perro Sanxe's goal looked a bit too open when Artzai Galnares came free, but Leon Paris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Los Perro Sanxe's Leon Paris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Aznar in the 17th minute of play. Artzai Galnares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claude Santander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurgain Companys in the 22nd minute of play. David Aznar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Laurgain Companys's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claude Santander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Victoriano Zurica made the kick off in the second half. Laurgain Companys recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claude Santander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurgain Companys, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 minutes Sporting CP's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pudes Balboa who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Pudes Balboa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Claude Santander quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pudes Balboa hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Claude Santander came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Los Perro Sanxe's Laurgain Companys. But to his dismay, Laurgain Companys quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 65th minute, Laurgain Companys left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Perro Sanxe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The audience was convinced that David Aznar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leon Paris was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Filiberto Arenas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claude Santander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. A collision led to Los Perro Sanxe getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Filiberto Arenas hit a great ball. Los Perro Sanxe made a substitution. Mário Franco replaced Laurgain Companys. In the 87th minute, Filiberto Arenas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Sporting CP's Ebardo Viqueira got a free kick in the 89th minute. Sporting CP's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Los Perro Sanxe had won, even though Sporting CP had held more of the ball.
