After 27 minutes, Jusepe Coello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xaloc and the Rojals players grew even worse after the yellow card. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Merlin Balmaceda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, one of Rojals:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rojals. In the 52nd minute, Humberto Barba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Phenix Wright was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Helge Schleie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zunbeltz Cienfuegos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rojals's Merlin Balmaceda managed to work through Xaloc's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Merlin Balmaceda dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emenon Romero in the 60th minute of play forced Xaloc's goalkeeper Helge Schleie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgilio Quevedo scored 1-2 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Phenix Wright, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rojals's Elpidio Griego was substituted for Vigil Aizpurua. Merlin Balmaceda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Helge Schleie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merlin Balmaceda in the 94th minute of the match. The Rojals fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when Rojals's Merlin Balmaceda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rojals's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
