When Lano Torres fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CF Mendia's protests and gave Lano Torres a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Lano Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute, Michel Hervé made a precise shot to the right of Igor Travassos. CF Mendia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Igor Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Hervé, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michel Hervé recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Igor Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Hervé, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 30th match minute, Barrikako Herensugeak F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iratxo Crespo to maneuver through the defense. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Erik Thorstvedt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Barrikako Herensugeak F.C from getting a goal against them. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Igor Travassos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after CF Mendia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vitor Cambero took the corner.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Hervé in the 57th minute of play forced CF Mendia's goalkeeper Igor Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michel Hervé received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Igor Travassos came out and tried to block the shot, but Michel Hervé slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 59th minute. CF Mendia's Lano Torres got his second yellow card of the match in the 66th minute. The referee ordered Lano Torres off the ground. Erik Thorstvedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bras Abascal in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Hervé in the 75th minute of play forced CF Mendia's goalkeeper Igor Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute, Goyo Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. CF Mendia made a substitution. Javier Bellido replaced Manolito Caminero. The supporters of Barrikako Herensugeak F.C booed when CF Mendia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Goyo Reyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Vitor Cambero tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Erik Thorstvedt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bras Abascal in the 95th minute of the match. Erik Thorstvedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bras Abascal in the 96th minute of play. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
