Xtrema C.F.:s Bastia Vilanova showed great skill when he stopped Lamberto Valdivia:s penalty. 12 minutes into the match, Albert Gómez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aristeo Cordoba. San Fernando CD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Albert Gómez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 23 played minutes, San Fernando CD's Mark Sobrado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bastia Vilanova came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in San Fernando CD reached it. After 25 minutes of play, San Fernando CD's Julen Garate made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bastia Vilanova was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 28th minute, Julián Guasch made a precise shot to the right of Bastia Vilanova. Xtrema C.F.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Julen Garate might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bastia Vilanova. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julen Garate ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th minute, Julen Garate made a precise shot to the right of Bastia Vilanova. Xtrema C.F.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julen Garate to strike the kick off in the second half. If Julen Garate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute.
