The supporters of Velez-Malaga booed when Paquete Suca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dubardo Madariaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseo Leal was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Reno Fonticoba. In the 13th match minute, Paquete Suca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dubardo Madariaga to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Velez-Malaga's Reno Fonticoba broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Thanks to some nice moves Crescencio Guijarro could shoot a difficult shot in the 26th minute, which Eliseo Leal however easily saved by the left post. Eliseo Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xano Castellano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Xano Castellano put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Eliseo Leal. Xano Castellano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Eliseo Leal made a huge save. In the 33rd minute, Velez-Malaga's Xano Castellano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eliseo Leal. Eliseo Leal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. In the 38th minute, Herminio Boniel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Velez-Malaga's Angelino Lawrence played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anthony Stark in the 39th minute of play. Angelino Lawrence showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Stark in the 43rd minute of the match. When Crescencio Guijarro fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velez-Malaga's protests and gave Crescencio Guijarro a yellow card for diving instead. Crescencio Guijarro hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Eliseo Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xano Castellano, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Velez-Malaga's Angelino Lawrence proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Velez-Malaga from getting a goal against them. Angelino Lawrence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xanti Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Velez-Malaga were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Paquete Suca for a fine match.
