In the 9th minute of the match NEWPEEN got a corner. Murcia Promesas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rogelio Garoa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Timo Palacios charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Timo Palacios the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 15 minutes into the match, Murcia Promesas's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Garoa came free, but Tancredo Griful reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Rogelio Garoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tancredo Griful saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xian Casillas charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xian Casillas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 17 played minutes Murcia Promesas got a freekick which was hit by Xian Casillas. The throw-in from Xesc Benítez in the 19th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Murcia Promesas's Lucio Rivera. The audience was convinced that Galo Segura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Remigijus Žirgulis was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. When Murcia Promesas's Galo Segura in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Galo Segura put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Remigijus Žirgulis. In the 37th minute Galo Segura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigijus Žirgulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Oscar Montiel took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Tancredo Griful to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rogelio Garoa got free with Tancredo Griful in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rogelio Garoa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Antonio Erosa hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Remigijus Žirgulis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Galo Segura in the 55th minute of play. Tancredo Griful showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Garoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Francesco Ibanez managed to get in a good position for a shot. NEWPEEN's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Ibanez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tancredo Griful breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Garoa in the 67th minute of play forced Murcia Promesas's goalkeeper Tancredo Griful to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Murcia Promesas defense, Rogelio Garoa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tancredo Griful. The Murcia Promesas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tancredo Griful should have stopped the shot. Galo Segura took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remigijus Žirgulis. Remigijus Žirgulis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Murcia Promesas's Tancredo Griful played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Garoa in the 93rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Murcia Promesas's Antonio Erosa got a free kick in the 94th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. NEWPEEN fully deserved thier win.
