Isidoro Viqueira struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Remigijus Žirgulis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Velez-Malaga. Thanks to some nice moves Xano Castellano could shoot a difficult shot in the 7th minute, which Remigijus Žirgulis however easily saved by the left post. The corner went over the outstretched arms of NEWPEEN's goalie and right to Peru Alcaraz. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. NEWPEEN's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Angelino Lawrence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Montiel in the 15th minute of play. NEWPEEN's Remigijus Žirgulis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerim Tokgöz in the 20th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Emeterio Aznar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 minutes of play, NEWPEEN's Rogelio Garoa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelino Lawrence was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Viqueira got free with Remigijus Žirgulis in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Angelino Lawrence showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Garoa in the 44th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 53rd minute Xano Castellano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigijus Žirgulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Remigijus Žirgulis came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Velez-Malaga's Xian Vacas. But to his dismay, Xian Vacas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Isidoro Viqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remigijus Žirgulis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xano Castellano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogelio Garoa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelino Lawrence read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Remigijus Žirgulis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Crescencio Guijarro in the 70th minute of play. Isidoro Viqueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Remigijus Žirgulis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Crescencio Guijarro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ugutz Navas fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velez-Malaga's protests and gave Ugutz Navas a yellow card for diving instead. NEWPEEN's Jaime Camacho was substituted for Francesco Ibanez. In the 81st match minute, Velez-Malaga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ugutz Navas to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez-Malaga's goalkeeper Angelino Lawrence, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With an all-out effort, NEWPEEN's Angelino Lawrence threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mari Huanca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 89 minutes into the match, NEWPEEN's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Viqueira came free, but Remigijus Žirgulis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez-Malaga's goalkeeper Angelino Lawrence, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
