After having played for 5 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carl Askelöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Boomerang Bombers's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Carl Askelöf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Tolsson in the 15th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute of the match Boomerang Bombers got a corner. Netherlands's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Esbjörn Olofsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Esbjörn Olofsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers did a great save. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Carl Askelöf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Billy Sundberg in the 21st minute. When David Eikelkamp came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Eikelkamp couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Boomerang Bombers's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Carl Askelöf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Askelöf having to interfere. A collision led to Boomerang Bombers getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Rune Blom hit a great ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Carl Askelöf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Carl Askelöf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Michael Nyberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boomerang Bombers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. In the 37th minute, Michael Nyberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by David Eikelkamp. Carl Askelöf didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wim Wilmes went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The Boomerang Bombers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henry Tolsson was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Carl Askelöf saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Carl Askelöf was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wim Wilmes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 56 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Tolsson in the 59th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carl Askelöf made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. 62 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Carl Askelöf was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 69th minute, Billy Sundberg made a precise shot to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Henry Tolsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. When Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Askelöf having to interfere. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Boomerang Bombers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Åke Lundström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
