Mortimer Ejersted made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulrik Højlo in the 5th minute of play. Klaudius Bergholm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Mortimer Ejersted tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jens Hestbek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Klaudius Bergholm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Mortimer Ejersted made a huge save. After 22 played minutes Gudum SIK got a freekick which was hit by Mikki Trochmann. Gudum SIK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Ulrik Højlo scored to the left of an out of position Mortimer Ejersted, making the score, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Ulrik Højlo made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Klaudius Bergholm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ulrik Højlo struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Mortimer Ejersted didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sønderby. In the 76th minute, Piet Fermer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sønderby's Aske Selsbye didn't even have to move. Aske Selsbye showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens Hestbek, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. If Leo Bøg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Klaudius Bergholm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ulrik Højlo struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Mortimer Ejersted didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sønderby. The supporters of Sønderby booed when Gudum SIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Lamber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gudum SIK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
