In the last second Timmy Ivens throw himself and got hold of the ball when Anthon Sterndorf in the 3rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Brøndby IF! In the 7th minute there was a penalty for Tondern. Eskil Herwagen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Joakim Thai. 0-1. Terri Hjortsøe scored 1-2 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joakim Thai, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 18 minutes into the game, Terri Hjortsøe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Joakim Thai was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Timmy Ivens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthon Sterndorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the game, Rainar Polichinel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Timmy Ivens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joakim Thai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mortimer Oppelstrup, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The supporters of Tondern booed when Brøndby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eskild Fernov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Brøndby IF defense, Tomas Glynov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joakim Thai. The Brøndby IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joakim Thai should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Brøndby IF's zone, Terri Hjortsøe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joakim Thai came out of the goal and Terri Hjortsøe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Volmer Pofler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joakim Thai having to interfere. Volmer Pofler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tondern's goalkeeper Timmy Ivens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Anthon Sterndorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anthon Sterndorf to make the kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brøndby IF's goalkeeper Joakim Thai, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 58 minutes into the match, Terri Hjortsøe dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joakim Thai, 2-5. If Terri Hjortsøe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Terri Hjortsøe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joakim Thai read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Eskild Fernov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute, Volmer Pofler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Volmer Poflers short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Joakim Thai to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Brøndby IF's zone, Terri Hjortsøe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joakim Thai came out of the goal and Terri Hjortsøe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Bert Kongsland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brøndby IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Bert Kongsland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timmy Ivens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tondern's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
