Marius Steenholt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Brøndby IF's zone, Lars Helleby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joakim Thai came out of the goal and Lars Helleby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brøndby IF's Joakim Thai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Helleby in the 17th minute of play. Brøndby IF's Therkel Skovbølling shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 20th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Rikardt Ellehage but with some difficulty. In the 21stth minute of the game Hemming Sveinsklett who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brøndby IF's Joakim Thai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 22 played minutes Svindbæk got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Bjelke. Rikardt Ellehage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthon Sterndorf in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Klaudius Glædevang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Svindbæk's Hemming Sveinsklett in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brøndby IF's goalie prevented a goal. Rikardt Ellehage made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Rainar Polichinel sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Georg Rudniak during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 38 played minutes Svindbæk got a freekick which was hit by Georg Rudniak. Joakim Thai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marius Steenholt, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anthon Sterndorf to strike the kick off in the second half. Hemming Sveinsklett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joakim Thai having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Hemming Sveinsklett fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Daniel Sieberichs's late challenge caught a Svindbæk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Sieberichs helped the player get up and apologised. Daniel Sieberichs kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Georg Rudniak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joakim Thai having to make a save. Georg Rudniak's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Joakim Thai firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 65th minute, Svindbæk's Godtfred Bernstorn seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Godtfred Bernstorn the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Svindbæk protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Godtfred Bernstorn had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 65th minute, one of Svindbæk:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Svindbæk. In the 76th minute Bert Kongsland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rikardt Ellehage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Eskild Fernov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Hemming Sveinsklett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hemming Sveinsklett came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Svindbæk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hemming Sveinsklett couldn't finish the play. Joakim Thai was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lars Helleby. Brøndby IF succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Svindbæk had controlled the match.
