The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Esben Nilander made a precise shot to the right of Ernest Skotner. Blovstrød IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With an all-out effort, Blovstrød IF's Franz Ellemand threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Helge Herm, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 12 minutes, Asker Parming managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mariager IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Asker Parming was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ernest Skotner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esben Nilander in the 15th minute of the match. Dick Strufve charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dick Strufve the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Blovstrød IF getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Dick Strufve hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Mariager IF's Eskil Bastheim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernest Skotner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Andre Sauvr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernest Skotner having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Blovstrød IF's Sebastean Børrum got a free kick in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernhard Høstbæk in the 24th minute of play forced Mariager IF's goalkeeper Franz Ellemand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Franz Ellemand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dick Strufve in the 25th minute. Mariager IF's Franz Ellemand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Helge Herm in the 27th minute of play. In the 27th match minute, Mariager IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andre Sauvr to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Helge Herm in the 30th minute of play forced Mariager IF's goalkeeper Franz Ellemand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Mariager IF's goal looked a bit too open when Laus Strynick came free, but Franz Ellemand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Mariager IF getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Asker Parming hit a great ball. Franz Ellemand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Helge Herm, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Al Skarborg kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. The attack was good, but when Dick Strufve in the 39th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Franz Ellemand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Helge Herm in the 41st minute of the match. Bernhard Høstbæk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Esben Nilander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Blovstrød IF's zone, Esben Nilander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernest Skotner came out of the goal and Esben Nilander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Helge Herm to make the kick off. After 55 played minutes, Blovstrød IF's Laus Strynick shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Franz Ellemand came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Blovstrød IF reached it. Esben Nilander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Asker Parming scored 0-2 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ernest Skotner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mariager IF's Franz Ellemand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Helge Herm in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Mariager IF's goal looked a bit too open when Dick Strufve came free, but Franz Ellemand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Helge Herm in the 76th minute of play forced Mariager IF's goalkeeper Franz Ellemand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andre Sauvr hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Franz Ellemand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Helge Herm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Mariager IF defense, Helge Herm kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franz Ellemand. The Mariager IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franz Ellemand should have stopped the shot. 87 minutes into the game, Blovstrød IF's Dick Strufve nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Franz Ellemand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. The supporters of Mariager IF booed when Blovstrød IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Tassing didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, Blovstrød IF could leave the field as winners, despite Mariager IF having more of the ball for most of the match.
