Therkel Benved was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Hvidsten's Dirk Vilby got control of the ball when Terri Lundov tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Viborg defense, Mauricio Qwinton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Therkel Benved. The FC Viborg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Therkel Benved should have stopped the shot. Mauricio Qwinton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Hvidsten fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Hvidsten's Mauricio Qwinton looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tiburcio Muxica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Therkel Benved having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Owe Simmelkiær had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Therkel Benved. FC Viborg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Owe Simmelkiær was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Therkel Benved showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Qwinton, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Therkel Benved stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauricio Qwinton's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. If Mauricio Qwinton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hvidsten's Owe Simmelkiær got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eli Kert made a kick off. Therkel Benved came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Hvidsten's Chineze Sunal. But to his dismay, Chineze Sunal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. After a defensive mix-up in FC Viborg's zone, Tiburcio Muxica stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Therkel Benved came out of the goal and Tiburcio Muxica tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 55 minutes into the match, Mauricio Qwinton notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of FC Viborg's Therkel Benved. Therkel Benved was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Owe Simmelkiær came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Therkel Benved could save by the left post. FC Viborg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Owe Simmelkiær scored to the left of an out of position Therkel Benved, making the score, 0-9. The supporters of Hvidsten booed when FC Viborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nick Feltheim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Owe Simmelkiær had several of the FC Viborg's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 64 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-10 score and a disappointed Therkel Benved as he didn't even see the shot coming. 67 minutes into the match, Owe Simmelkiær had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Therkel Benved. Owe Simmelkiær's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, Therkel Benved skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Owe Simmelkiær received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Therkel Benved tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Viborg's Niels Sudurberg got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 0-14 became the score in the 84th minute when Owe Simmelkiær elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Owe Simmelkiær got free with Therkel Benved in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Owe Simmelkiær succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-15 in the 93rd playminute. Hvidsten played a much better game than FC Viborg and deserved their victory. The FC Viborg players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
