The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Lennarth Alting fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rye BK's protests and gave Lennarth Alting a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes Rye BK got a freekick which was hit by Lennarth Alting. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sune Aagot in the 6th minute of play forced Rye BK's goalkeeper Johan Thyren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th match minute, Rye BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Vinsteen to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute, Svend Alsbro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rye BK's Johan Thyren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Rye BK from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 14th minute by Balthazar Susaa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 14th minute of the match, Balthazar Susaa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Johan Thyren was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Rye BK's Johan Thyren got control of the ball when Balthazar Susaa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 19 minutes in the game, Balthazar Susaa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Johan Thyren having to interfere. If Balthazar Susaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Next Generation's Sune Aagot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Johan Thyren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Asmus Dyvig during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sune Aagot struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Johan Thyren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Next Generation. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kevin Kjølstad made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sune Aagot in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johan Thyren saved Rye BK from getting behind. Balthazar Susaa hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. If Balthazar Susaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Johan Thyren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Balthazar Susaa in the 58th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Next Generation's Christoffer Lillienfryd got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 63 minutes of play, Next Generation's Balthazar Susaa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johan Thyren was left in no man's land by his defense there! 73 minutes into the game, Edmund Silvestre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rye BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Next Generation the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Edmund Silvestre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sune Aagot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Johan Thyren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Next Generation's Sune Aagot got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Camilo Jokin hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Balthazar Susaa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Next Generation fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Next Generation fully deserved thier win.
