The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Odense Boldklub's Frands Djurø quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 8 minutes into the match, Nem FC's goalkeeper Elias Cidlik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joachim Acosta. After 8 played minutes Nem FC got a freekick which was hit by Knut Ginsbak. Nem FC's Klaes Stent got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 21 played minutes Nem FC got a freekick which was hit by Elo Lyngskov. Frands Djurø sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the game, Odense Boldklub's Terkild Mosbech nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elias Cidlik made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Sven Randborg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klaes Stent, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes in the game, Joachim Acosta fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Elias Cidlik having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Terkild Mosbech took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Elias Cidlik to make any attempt to save it. Odense Boldklub's Frands Djurø quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Asbjørn Højby, made in the 36th minute of the game. A collision led to Odense Boldklub getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Kurt Vinterly hit a great ball. Joachim Acosta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Elias Cidlik made a huge save. After 43 played minutes Nem FC got a freekick which was hit by Frederick Dreier. In the 46th minute, Nem FC's Frederick Dreier seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Frederick Dreier the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Nem FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Frederick Dreier had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 45th minute, one of Nem FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nem FC. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Klaes Stent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Randborg having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Klaes Stent got free with Sven Randborg in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Terkild Mosbech received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Elias Cidlik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Acosta in the 84th minute of play forced Nem FC's goalkeeper Elias Cidlik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Joachim Acosta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Odense Boldklub's supporters rose to their feet, but Joachim Acosta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Cidlik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elias Cidlik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim Acosta in the 90th minute of play. Elias Cidlik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terkild Mosbech in the 91st minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Asbjørn Højby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Randborg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Terkild Mosbech in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elias Cidlik saved Nem FC from getting behind. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Odense Boldklub fully deserved thier win.
