With a couple of smart ball manuevers Friedemann Gerland in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marc Hofheinz saved Dortmund FC from getting behind. In the 6th minute of the match Agilo Kremer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henning Schnappauf showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 10 minutes into the match, RedStar's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Gottschling came free, but Henning Schnappauf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Friedemann Gerland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Friedemann Gerland in the 14th minute of play forced Dortmund FC's goalkeeper Marc Hofheinz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kurt Kolber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Henning Schnappauf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc Hofheinz was a little too slow when Friedemann Gerland got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 27th minute Guido Gottschling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henning Schnappauf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. RedStar's Friedemann Gerland was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 30th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Henning Schnappauf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Kolber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the game, Guido Gottschling cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Henning Schnappauf was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marc Hofheinz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Friedemann Gerland in the 45th minute. A hard shot 46 in the game by Friedemann Gerland from a close distance when the talented Marc Hofheinz managed to make a qualified save. Dortmund FC's players were relieved. Peter Kiefer hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kurt Kolber was the one to do the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in RedStar fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 52nd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 55 minutes, Dortmund FC's René Högg got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Henning Schnappauf. After a defensive mix-up in Dortmund FC's zone, Mattis Westphal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marc Hofheinz came out of the goal and Mattis Westphal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Dortmund FC defense, Ruth Haun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marc Hofheinz. The Dortmund FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marc Hofheinz should have stopped the shot. Mattis Westphal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Mattis Westphal came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the RedStar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mattis Westphal couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joseph Muchow during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 80th match minute, RedStar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joseph Muchow to maneuver through the defense. After 82 played minutes, Dortmund FC's René Högg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henning Schnappauf came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dortmund FC reached it. After some careless play in the Dortmund FC defense, Stephan Schäfer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marc Hofheinz. The Dortmund FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marc Hofheinz should have stopped the shot. Marcio Bartholome sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Mattis Westphal managed to get in a good position for a shot. RedStar's supporters rose to their feet, but Mattis Westphal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marc Hofheinz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stephan Schäfer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that RedStar were the better team. RedStar's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
