After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Marc Brandl managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lührsfelde's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Brandl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lutz Blecken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lutz Blecken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc Brandl, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The supporters of Sagemuhle booed when Lührsfelde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arlo Lösing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gunter Bannenbusch took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ekkehard Scherzer. Lührsfelde's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 33 minutes of play Sagemuhle's Gunnar Bruhn was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Lührsfelde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlo Hansen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 61 minutes into the game, Sagemuhle's Klaus Ahlers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ekkehard Scherzer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After 64 minutes, Klaus Ahlers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sagemuhle and the Lührsfelde players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Sagemuhle getting a freekick after 64 minutes play.
