Spectators: 7524 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Mel Bareiß made the kick off and thus started the match. After 2 played minutes Taşova SK got a freekick which was hit by Nico Scheu. Jürgen Schreiner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Steffen Jennemann in the 3rd minute. After 6 played minutes Taşova SK got a freekick which was hit by Eskil Hirsch. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steffen Jennemann got free with Jürgen Schreiner in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eskil Hirsch kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Taşova SK's zone, Dag Szczepanowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jürgen Schreiner came out of the goal and Dag Szczepanowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jürgen Schreiner was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Dag Szczepanowski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dag Szczepanowski really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 14 minutes into the match, Taşova SK's goalkeeper Jürgen Schreiner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steffen Jennemann. Jürgen Schreiner was a little too slow when Steffen Jennemann got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 2-0. Mel Bareiß took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gunnar Hauke. Gunnar Hauke dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dag Szczepanowski in the 28th minute of play forced Taşova SK's goalkeeper Jürgen Schreiner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mel Bareiß in the 35th minute of play forced F.C. Messina's goalkeeper Gunnar Hauke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Mel Bareiß got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Taşova SK's Matthias Presch got a free kick in the 37th minute. Taşova SK's Jürgen Schreiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dag Szczepanowski in the 43rd minute of play. Gunnar Hauke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Scheu in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute Eskil Hirsch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunnar Hauke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dag Szczepanowski was the one to do the kick off. Dag Szczepanowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nico Scheu in the 56th minute of play forced F.C. Messina's goalkeeper Gunnar Hauke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mel Bareiß charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mel Bareiß the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jürgen Schreiner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steffen Jennemann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C. Messina's Gunnar Hauke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. Messina from getting a goal against them. 68 minutes into the match, Gai Montarco notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Taşova SK's Jürgen Schreiner. Jürgen Schreiner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Willy Grossek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gunnar Hauke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mel Bareiß, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dag Szczepanowski struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Jürgen Schreiner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C. Messina. The referee felt a red card was in order, 83 minutes into the game, when Maurice  Bukow put in a rough tackle. Dag Szczepanowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. F.C. Messina's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
