The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Egon Maier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 7 minutes into the game, Takeshi Schmitz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wißgoldingen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kleinenheerse FC the free kick. Takeshi Schmitz kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Egon Maier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josef Spangenberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Takeshi Schmitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Egon Maier in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Josef Spangenberg saved Wißgoldingen from getting behind. When Eros Burka fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kleinenheerse FC's protests and gave Eros Burka a yellow card for diving instead. Eros Burka hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Takeshi Schmitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dustin Bickelhaupt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnold Knöpfel having to interfere. Dag Fiolka's late challenge caught a Kleinenheerse FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dag Fiolka helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Wißgoldingen's Dag Fiolka got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute Egon Maier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Spangenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Takeshi Schmitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Arnold Knöpfel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Egon Maier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Wißgoldingen's Takeshi Schmitz in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kleinenheerse FC's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Egon Maier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kleinenheerse FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Egon Maier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josef Spangenberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Takeshi Schmitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Wißgoldingen booed when Kleinenheerse FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Kunz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
A hard shot by Clint Glos from long distance, 56 minutes into the match, got Josef Spangenberg's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Egon Maier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Spangenberg having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dustin Bickelhaupt in the 64th minute of play forced Kleinenheerse FC's goalkeeper Arnold Knöpfel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egon Maier got free with Josef Spangenberg in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 71 minutes in the game, Eros Burka fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Josef Spangenberg having to interfere. Heiko Koczy kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the game, Ralph Schering was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wißgoldingen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kleinenheerse FC the free kick. Ralph Schering kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. When Ralph Schering was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. In the 82nd minute, Ralph Schering hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 83 played minutes, Kleinenheerse FC's Clint Glos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Josef Spangenberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kleinenheerse FC reached it. 90 minutes into the match, Kleinenheerse FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dustin Bickelhaupt came free, but Arnold Knöpfel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wißgoldingen's Dustin Bickelhaupt got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
