Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) James Gaßner started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Thundorf FC's Ludwig Konietzny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Helmut Pfeffer in the 13th minute of play. When James Gaßner got free in front of the goal in the 16th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Ludwig Konietzny was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Thundorf FC's goal looked a bit too open when Helmut Pfeffer came free, but Ludwig Konietzny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Reinhold Kiener hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ludwig Konietzny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Helmut Pfeffer in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Thundorf FC's Phil Korntreff got a free kick in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Helmut Pfeffer in the 25th minute of play forced Thundorf FC's goalkeeper Ludwig Konietzny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot by Detlef Vöhringer from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Reineke Büttner's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, James Gaßner managed to get in a good position for a shot. dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but James Gaßner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ludwig Konietzny breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Helmut Pfeffer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. James Gaßner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ludwig Konietzny having to interfere. After 65 played minutes dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Axel Brominski. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odo Gehling in the 68th minute of play forced dortmund's goalkeeper Reineke Büttner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Odo Gehling's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reineke Büttner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. When James Gaßner came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the dortmund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that James Gaßner couldn't finish the play. In the 91stth minute of the game Torsten Brazol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but dortmund's Reineke Büttner was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reineke Büttner came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Thundorf FC's Odo Gehling. But to his dismay, Odo Gehling quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Niklaus Burchartz's late challenge caught a dortmund's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niklaus Burchartz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of dortmund booed when Thundorf FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niklaus Burchartz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ludwig Konietzny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from James Gaßner in the 96th minute of the match. dortmund were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
