TV1884Erlangen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Ehrenfeld the free kick. In the 15th match minute, TV1884Erlangen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliah Hölzgen to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Karol Harth had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Egmund Lehmler. TV1884Erlangen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karol Harth was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Karol Harth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, FC Ehrenfeld's goal looked a bit too open when Helmuth Böll came free, but Dustin Sperlich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 minutes, Menno Schön mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Ehrenfeld and the TV1884Erlangen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dustin Sperlich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinzenz Freye in the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Helmuth Böll shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dustin Sperlich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinzenz Freye in the 29th minute of play forced FC Ehrenfeld's goalkeeper Dustin Sperlich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dustin Sperlich came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by TV1884Erlangen's Helmuth Böll. But to his dismay, Helmuth Böll quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Egmund Lehmler had great luck who in the 41stth minute grab hold of the ball when Klemens Giehl from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 43rdth minute of the game Vinzenz Freye who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Ehrenfeld's Dustin Sperlich was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 45th minute of the match TV1884Erlangen got a corner. FC Ehrenfeld's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Magnus Schock ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Magnus Schock got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dustin Sperlich quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Helmuth Böll received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Dustin Sperlich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The FC Ehrenfeld players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. TV1884Erlangen were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vinzenz Freye stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, FC Ehrenfeld was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claus Lingens to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in FC Ehrenfeld's zone, Helmuth Böll stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dustin Sperlich came out of the goal and Helmuth Böll tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dustin Sperlich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinzenz Freye, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dustin Sperlich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinzenz Freye, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klemens Giehl in the 71st minute of play forced TV1884Erlangen's goalkeeper Egmund Lehmler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute Klemens Giehl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egmund Lehmler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karol Harth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egmund Lehmler having to interfere. Karol Harth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kay Appel hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. When Karol Harth came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the FC Ehrenfeld fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karol Harth couldn't finish the play. If Klemens Giehl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the game, Helmuth Böll cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Dustin Sperlich was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vinzenz Freye in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dustin Sperlich prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Helmuth Böll who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Dustin Sperlich when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Klemens Giehl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Klemens Giehl came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the FC Ehrenfeld fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Klemens Giehl couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. TV1884Erlangen walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
