Horst Senzel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robby Lämmer in the 16th minute of the match. When Karl-Michael Lund came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Frisia03 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Michael Lund couldn't finish the play. Dierk Dullinger kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Kratzeroda's zone, Leo Naber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horst Senzel came out of the goal and Leo Naber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Robby Lämmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Leo Naber put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Horst Senzel. Horst Senzel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leo Naber's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Kratzeroda's Horst Senzel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Kratzeroda from getting a goal against them.
