In the 27th minute Nigel Schuchter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Musser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Manfred von Rumohr managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Eversten's Bonifatius Kügler fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 32nd match minute, Eversten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hanjo Nelsen to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Eversten booed when Beiersgraben was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Löhr didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Musser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kay Krummwiede in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Eversten's Bonifatius Kügler ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Manfred von Rumohr. Manfred von Rumohr yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Wilfried Brenner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
