Damian Karl was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Reimund Blome showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. After 10 minutes, Jonah Scholze mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Giershausen FSV and the Pohlheim players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Giershausen FSV fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! Reinhold Hannemann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godwin Scherlitz's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Pohlheim's Peter Burkert got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Jonah Scholze got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dion Birke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Damian Karl made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dion Birke got free with Damian Karl in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd minute Godwin Scherlitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinhold Hannemann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godwin Scherlitz spun around in front of the goal 23 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Giershausen FSV's goal. Reinhold Hannemann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julius Gorski went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Reinhold Hannemann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julius Gorski, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godwin Scherlitz in the 31st minute of play forced Giershausen FSV's goalkeeper Reinhold Hannemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Giershausen FSV's zone, Manfred Pittscheidt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinhold Hannemann came out of the goal and Manfred Pittscheidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 37 minutes, Julius Gorski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pohlheim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julius Gorski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Pohlheim getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Julius Gorski hit a great ball. Erwin Jung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damian Karl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reimund Blome, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Godwin Scherlitz made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godwin Scherlitz in the 54th minute of play forced Giershausen FSV's goalkeeper Reinhold Hannemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the game, Dion Birke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Damian Karl was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Damian Karl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julius Bar in the 59th minute of the match. Julius Gorski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinhold Hannemann having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Ditmar Boehnke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pohlheim's Damian Karl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reimund Blome in the 75th minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Giershausen FSV's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Julius Gorski fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 86th minute, Reimund Blome ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damian Karl was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Reinhold Hannemann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godwin Scherlitz in the 91st minute of play. Pohlheim's Damian Karl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erwin Jung in the 92nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Giershausen FSV's zone, Julius Gorski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinhold Hannemann came out of the goal and Julius Gorski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giershausen FSV's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
